If you’re born again, you’re born, not of corruptible seed but of incorruptible seed, which is the Word of God that lives and abides forever (1 Peter 1:23). This means you’re born of the Word that came from above; thus you can as well declare that you’re from above. This consciousness of your divine origin will change your attitude and the way you live. That’s because, when you recognize you’re not of this world, you won’t think, talk, or act like the world.
Imagine that you go to work with this consciousness that you’re from above and someone in the office offends you. Everybody expects you to get mad, but you don’t, and while they’re wondering at you, you simply let them know you can’t condescend to such behaviour, because you’re from above.
Be conscious of this truth twenty-four hours every day. The more you walk in this consciousness, the greater and more outstanding your results will be. You will be distinguished by the supernatural and those around you will know of a truth that you’re from above.
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. – Hebrews 13:15
|Great things happen when you continually confess the mercy of God. Faith rises up on the inside of you. The reality that God loves you begins to sing through your spirit.
What’s more, it brings honor to your Father when you believe His Word and magnify His love and mercy. You honor Him when you speak of His goodness and lovingkindness, when you talk about Him as your Father of love who does only good. It blesses Him when you praise Him as the great God of the universe who is eager to bless and who even gave His own Son because He so loved the world.
David was a man after God’s own heart. He knew how to praise his God. Until you have the Word dwelling in you richly so that you can speak psalms and praises out of your own spirit, use the praises of David to magnify God. Speak them or sing them out loud to the Father.
Put His words continually on your lips. You will soon begin to experience the thrill and the joy of realizing that God is indeed “rich in mercy” because of His great love with which He loved us. Your faith will rise to new heights and your Father will be blessed! And you will be blessed.
Scripture Reading: Psalm 89:1-18
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12)
When the Word of God gets into your spirit, it has the power to make you what it talks about, bringing about a transformation. The Word is the only agent that can transform a person’s life on all three levels–spirit, soul and body.
Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” this means that the Word can also transform your way of thinking. Then also, the Word can transform your physical body: “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings… for they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” (Proverbs 4:20-22). The word “health” is from the Hebrew word “marpe” which means medicine, showing God’s Word will immunize you against sickness and infirmity.
Make a personal decision to improve your life every day with the Word of God, and your life would be truly an unending stream of success, health and progress. Glory to God.
“Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it” (Romans 12:2 MSG).
One of the ways of training your human spirit is educating your spirit to respond to God at once; learning to respond quickly to His instructions. A lot of the problems many of God’s children get themselves into would be averted if only they respond quickly to the Holy Spirit.
Sometimes you may find yourself in fellowship with certain people the Spirit of God doesn’t want you to make friends with, and then He tells you to distance yourself from them. Obey immediately. Consciously train yourself to respond quickly to His voice. Don’t let Him have to repeat instructions to you over and over again.
Remember, God’s guidance in your life doesn’t have to be spectacular. If it’s from the Holy Spirit, it’s supernatural and can be trusted. If you train yourself now to respond to Him like this, you’ll be able to hear Him in the time of crisis because your spirit would have been trained to recognize His voice.
